Social Engagement

We are proud to partner with the Norwegian Junbesi Group (NJG), an organization from Trondheim that works to strengthen healthcare services in the village of Junbesi in the Himalayas. Through fundraising efforts, the association has, among other things, financed a maternity ward at the center, upgraded the facilities, provided education for a midwife, and funded three positions at the health center in the village. This work demonstrates how local engagement can have a global impact.

For over eight years, donations have contributed to ensuring safe operations and have gained increasing recognition from authorities.

During this period, maternity services have been significantly improved, and the village has experienced positive development with an expanding healthcare offering.

The center now treats between 1,500 and 2,000 patients annually, from both the village and surrounding, often isolated, settlements.

A consistent practice for NJG has been to provide annual contributions. Partner companies commit each year to donate a sum of money that is transferred directly to the operation of the health center.

Every single penny is transferred without any deductions, and 100% of the amount goes directly to support the center’s operations.

All other activities within NJG, including meetings and travel, are funded separately, and the administration of this initiative is handled on a voluntary basis.

Over these nine years, NJG has contributed nearly 1.7 million NOK to the health center in Nepal.

Here you can find a short YouTube film about the health center from when the project began nine years ago.
